Kaiser rolls filled with egg and cheese
Servings: 2 pieces
Ingredients
- 2 pre-baked Kaiser rolls
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp fresh chives, dill, parsley or oregano
- 2 tbsp grated cheese
- 2 slices of tomato
- 1 pinch of salt and pepper
Preparation method
-
Preparing the sandwiches
Carefully cut the tops off the Kaiser rolls and hollow out the soft bread inside. Make sure to leave the outside intact so the egg mixture doesn't leak out during baking. -
Make the egg mixture
Chop the fresh herbs. In a small bowl, beat the eggs and mix them with the chives (or other herbs of your choice), the grated cheese and a pinch of salt and pepper. -
Filling and formatting
Place a slice of tomato on the bottom of each bun. Pour the egg mixture evenly between the two buns. Fill just below the rim to prevent spillage. -
Baking in the air fryer
Place the filled rolls in the airfryer and bake for 10 minutes at 180°C, until the egg has set and the rolls are golden brown.
Notes
- Tip: Because air fryers work differently, the baking time may vary. Check the buns after 10 minutes and bake them a little longer if necessary.
- Enjoy these tasty rolls for breakfast, lunch or snack. Hot and fresh from the airfryer they are irresistible!
