π₯ Cantonese BBQ Pork (Char Siu) from the Airfryer π·π₯
Sticky, juicy and packed with flavor β and all that from the airfryer! π€©
This classic Chinese dish has that perfect balance of sweet, savory, and a hint of smokiness . Ideal for noodles, rice dishes, or just as a delicious snack!
π Ingredients (for 2-3 persons)

500 g pork tenderloin or pork neck (boneless shoulder chop)

2 tbsp hoisin sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce
β
1 tbsp light soy sauce
β
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
β
1 tbsp honey + extra for finishing
β
1 tbsp Shaoxing rice wine (or dry sherry)
β
1 tsp sesame oil
β
1 tsp Chinese five spice powder
β
1 tsp garlic powder
β
Β½ tsp ginger powder
β
Β½ tsp white pepper
β
1 tsp red food coloring (optional, for the authentic red color)
π₯ How to prepare
1οΈβ£ Marinate the meat: Cut the pork tenderloin or neck into long strips of about 3 cm thick. Mix all the ingredients for the marinade and rub the meat well with it. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours (preferably overnight) .
2οΈβ£ Preheat the airfryer to 180Β°C. Place the marinated meat in the airfryer and bake for 15-18 minutes , turning halfway through.
3οΈβ£ Finish it off: Brush the meat with extra honey and increase the temperature to 200Β°C . Bake for another 5 minutes for that lovely sticky caramel layer.
4οΈβ£ Let the meat rest for 5 minutes, cut it into thin slices and serve with steamed rice or noodles.
