Ingredients: check them off!

✅ 4 cloves of garlic
✅ 1 roll of fresh puff pastry (+ extra for decoration if necessary)
✅ 450 g chicken thigh fillet
✅ 4 tbsp mustard
✅ 250 g chestnut mushrooms

Preparation method (Airfryer Style!)

  1. Preparing the chicken:
Sprinkle the chicken thigh fillets generously with pepper, salt and mustard. Add a dash of olive oil and mix well. Roll the chicken tightly in plastic wrap and place in the fridge to stiffen.

  2. Roasting garlic:
Preheat the airfryer to 180°C. Wrap the garlic cloves in aluminum foil and roast them in the airfryer for 10 minutes . Let them cool, squeeze out the skins and mash them into a puree.

  3. Making the mushroom mixture:
Chop the mushrooms finely. Heat a dash of oil in a frying pan and fry the garlic puree and mushrooms for 5 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly and puree finely.

  4. Prepare puff pastry:
Roll out the puff pastry and place it with the baking paper on the rack or an airfryer plate. Divide the mushroom puree over one half of the puff pastry.

  5. Building Wellington:
Remove the chicken from the foil and place it on the mushroom puree. Fold the other half of the puff pastry over it and press the edges firmly closed. Use a fork to make a nice border pattern and cut small incisions in the top for steam release.

  6. Decorating:
Cut out shapes (such as stars or trees) from extra puff pastry and gently press them onto the top of the Wellington for a festive effect.

  7. Baking in the air fryer:
Place the Chicken Wellington in the airfryer and bake at 180°C for 20-25 minutes until the puff pastry is golden brown and crispy. Check halfway through and adjust the time if necessary.

Serve:

Let the Wellington rest for a few minutes before cutting. Serve with a fresh salad or roasted vegetables for a festive meal. 🎉
