Recipe: Juicy Meatballs from the Airfryer

Ingredients:

  • 500 g mixed minced meat
  • 1 shallot or small onion, finely chopped
  • 15 g parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp coarse mustard
  • 1 tsp sambal manis (or sambal oelek for a spicier version)
  • 2 tbsp ketjap manis
  • 3 heaped tbsp panko or breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation method:

Mix the minced meat: Place the mixed minced meat in a large bowl and add the finely chopped shallot, parsley, coarse mustard, sambal manis, ketjap manis and panko. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix everything together well with your hands until you have a firm mince mixture.

Form the meatballs: Knead the meat well and form into 5 equal balls. Make sure the balls are firm and compact.

Let the meatballs rest: Place the meatballs covered in the refrigerator and let them rest for at least 1 hour. This helps the flavors mix well and makes the balls firmer. You can also let them rest overnight for even better results.

Preheating: Preheat your Airfryer to 200°C.

Fry the meatballs: Place the meatballs in the basket of the Airfryer. Bake them for 8 minutes at 200°C until golden brown. Then reduce the temperature to 150°C and fry for another 4-5 minutes, until fully cooked.

To serve: Carefully remove the meatballs from the Airfryer and let them rest before serving. Enjoy the juicy and tasty meatballs as a main course or as a snack.

Tips for Perfect Meatballs from the Airfryer:

Use panko for extra crispiness: Panko gives the meatballs an extra crispy texture. If you don't have panko, you can also use regular breadcrumbs.

Let the meatballs rest: Resting the meatballs in the refrigerator gives the flavors time to develop and the balls become firmer. This prevents them from falling apart during baking.

Vary with herbs and spices: Add your favorite herbs and spices to the minced meat mixture for a unique twist. Think of garlic powder, paprika powder or even a little grated cheese.

With these simple instructions and useful tips you can effortlessly prepare juicy and tasty meatballs in the Airfryer. Enjoy this classic dish in a quick and easy way!
