Focaccia | From the Airfryer

Italian Focaccia from the Airfryer 🍞✨

Bring the taste of Italy into your home with this delicious, airy focaccia with a crispy crust. Perfect as a side dish, snack or to dip in olive oil. Simple, quick and full of flavour – ideal from the airfryer!

Ingredients:

  • 300 g flour (type 00)
  • 7 g dry yeast
  • 200 ml lukewarm water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • Sea salt to taste

Preparation method:

  1. Make the dough:
    Place the flour in a large mixing bowl and mix in the dry yeast, sugar and salt. Add the lukewarm water and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Knead the mixture for 5-10 minutes until a smooth and elastic dough is formed. Cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.

  2. Prepare the focaccia:
    Roll out the risen dough into a flat shape that fits in the airfryer. Place it on baking paper. Brush the dough with the remaining olive oil and sprinkle the chopped rosemary and sea salt over it.

  3. Baking in the air fryer:
    Preheat the airfryer to 180°C. Place the focaccia in the basket and bake for 15-20 minutes until the bread is golden brown and crispy.

  4. Serve:
    Let the focaccia cool for a few minutes and serve warm. Perfect with a bowl of olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping, or as an accompaniment to an Italian dinner.

  • Vary toppings: Add toppings such as cherry tomatoes, olives, fried onion or grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
  • Storage: Store the focaccia in an airtight bag or container to maintain its fluffiness.
