Ingredients:

  • 250 grams mozzarella sticks or a block of mozzarella, cut into 3x1 cm strips
  • 3 tablespoons gluten-free flour
  • 2 tablespoons arrowroot, tapioca starch or cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt and pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 100 grams gluten-free breadcrumbs (or Panko)
  • Olive oil spray
  • Marinara, pesto or a sauce of your choice to serve with it

Preparation method in the oven:

    • Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Prepare three deep plates: one with the flour, arrowroot, salt, pepper and garlic powder; one with beaten eggs; and one with breadcrumbs.

    • Roll each mozzarella stick first in the flour mixture, dip in the egg and cover completely with breadcrumbs. Repeat if necessary for an extra crispy layer.
  3. Freezing:

    • Place the breaded sticks on the baking sheet and freeze for at least 2 hours. This will prevent the cheese from melting during baking.
  4. Baking:

    • Preheat oven to 200°C. Bake mozzarella sticks for 8-10 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Be careful not to let the cheese melt.
  5. Serve:
