π₯‘π₯ Sticky Chinese Chicken with Salt & Pepper Chips from the Airfryer π₯π₯‘
Crispy, sticky chicken with perfectly seasoned fries β better than takeout! π
This dish has it all : a crispy layer, a sticky sweet-spicy glaze and irresistibly spicy fries. And the best part? Everything comes from the airfryer! π€©
π What do you need? (for 2 persons)
For the chicken:

360 g chicken thighs, diced
β
2 tsp soy sauce
β
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
β
1 cm ginger, grated
β
1 egg or egg white, beaten
β
23 g cornflour
β
Low-calorie baking spray
For the Salt & Pepper Chips:

150 g fries with skin (ready-made or cut yourself)
β
Β½ onion, diced
β
1 red and 1 green pepper, diced
β
Β½ tsp Chinese five spice powder
β
Pinch of sweetener or sugar
β
1 tsp soy sauce
For the sticky glaze:
β
2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
β
1 tsp dark soy sauce
β
1 tsp honey
β
Juice of Β½ lemon
β
2 tbsp water
Optional for serving:

Spring onion, finely chopped
β
Sesame seeds
β
Prawn crackers
π₯ Preparation method:
1οΈβ£ Marinate the chicken with 1 tsp soy sauce, garlic and ginger.
2οΈβ£ Coat the chicken in the beaten egg , then in the cornstarch for that delicious crispy layer.
3οΈβ£ Spray lightly with baking spray and air fry at 190Β°C for 14-16 minutes , turning halfway and spraying again. (Tip: use baking paper to prevent sticking!)
4οΈβ£ Meanwhile, briefly fry the onion and pepper in a pan with a little baking spray.
5οΈβ£ Add the fries with the five-spice powder, soy sauce and sweetener and fry briefly.
6οΈβ£ Make the glaze: Place all ingredients in a saucepan and heat over high heat until bubbling.
7οΈβ£ Add the crispy chicken to the glaze and mix well so that everything is coated.
8οΈβ£ Serve the sticky chicken with the Salt & Pepper Chips , top with spring onion, sesame seeds and possibly some kroepoek.
