Tips for Cleaning your Airfryer: Keep your Kitchen Hero in Top Condition!

Your air fryer is a faithful companion in the kitchen, but like any other appliance, it needs some TLC every now and then. Fortunately, we have collected some useful tips so that you can easily keep your air fryer clean.

Step 1: Clean the Basket

Start by cleaning the basket. This is where your snacks go, so there may be some food scraps left behind. First soak the basket for 10 minutes in a container with warm water and some washing-up liquid. You can then clean the basket on all sides with a soft sponge or brush. We do not recommend using abrasive sponges or degreasers, as these can damage the non-stick coating.

Step 2: Clean the Inner Pan

The inner pot is located under the basket and collects the juice that comes out of the food. You can clean the inner pot with a soft sponge, warm water and a little washing-up liquid. Here too, you should not use an abrasive sponge to avoid damaging the coating. After cleaning you can dry the pan with a cleaning cloth.

Step 3: Clean the Heating Element

To prevent your air fryer from emitting a burnt smell, wipe off grease stains from the heating element. Remove the plug from the socket and place the air fryer upside down on the table. Open the drawer of the air fryer so that you can easily access the heating element. Dampen a soft sponge with warm water and some washing-up liquid and squeeze it out well. Clean the element thoroughly. You can scrub difficult corners with an old toothbrush. Dry the heating element with a cleaning cloth.

Step 4: Clean the Outside

With an air fryer you don't have to worry about splashes of oil on the housing, because there is no oil in the machine. It is therefore sufficient to wipe the outside with a damp cloth and, if necessary, with some cleaning agent. Do not use an abrasive sponge as this may cause scratches. Dry the outside with a tea towel to prevent it from drying out.

Step 5: For an Extra Fresh Result

If your air fryer doesn't smell very fresh after cleaning it, you can gently rub the basket and inner pan with some lemon juice. This will make the baking smells disappear. Cut a lemon in half and rub the basket with one half and the inner pan with the other half. Let the parts sit for half an hour so that the lemon juice can do its work. Then rinse the parts with lukewarm water and dry them with a cleaning cloth.

With these simple steps and helpful tips, you can keep your air fryer in top condition so you can enjoy delicious, healthy meals every time!
